Having lived across Canada from coast to coast, Casey has worked for over 20 years as an Autism Resource Consultant and Clinical Supervisor on multidisciplinary teams, in both British Columbia and Ontario. Currently in Sault Ste Marie, she is an adjunct faculty member at Algoma University (Psychology), Lake Superior State University (Education), and Sault College (Social Sciences), a PhD student, a parent of a teen and a tween, and the partner of a very understanding man. She has a B.Sc. in Psychology, an M.A. in Education (Curriculum and Instruction), and is working on a PhD in Cognition and Learning, with research interests in Self-Regulation, particularly for children with ASD. She is certified in DIRFloortime and Shanker Self-Regulation (TM).
What keeps Casey calm, alert and regulated? Yoga, meditation, forest trails, a glass of wine and hearty laughs amongst good friends, the beach, a variety of stringed instruments, and her amazing family.
